Olde English Pocket Beagles orginated in England in the 1800s. The breed was realized through breeding the standard beagle down in stature throughout many generations while striving to maintain a high quality hound with good confirmation.

The Olde English gentlemen welcomed the smaller sized beagles as they were easy to transport in their saddle bags from one hunting location to another.  Therefore arriving at the very appropriate name, Olde English Pocket Beagle.
